Welcome to the Onboarding Investors Camp

Camp Overview

Join us for an intensive two-day online camp designed to equip entrepreneurs with the essential tools for navigating the investment landscape. This program focuses on understanding investor language and investment documents, preparing for fundraising, and effectively closing deals.

The camp is for all startups who wishes to gain invaluable insights and practical skills that will empower you on your entrepreneurial journey!

Day 1: Speaking the Language of Investors

  • Investor Landscape: Explore different types of investors, including angels, VCs, and funds.
  • Investment Terminology: Familiarize yourself with key terms like pre-money, cap tables, and due diligence.
  • Preparing for Investor Meetings: Learn budgeting best practices, valuation methods, and the essentials of a compelling pitch deck.

Preparation:

  • Elevator Pitch: Read the one-pager on how to craft a 1-minute elevator pitch. You can find the document on the Content Platform under the Learning Path for Onboarding Investors.
  • Write a 1-minute elevator pitch for investors.
  • Prepare the pitch so it only takes one minute.

Day 2: Attracting Investors and Closing the Deal

  • Fundraising Psychology and Strategy: Understand the fundraising process, including creating a financial plan and exit strategies.
  • Negotiation Techniques: Dive into term sheets, legal agreements, and the responsibilities of founders.
  • Collaboration with Investors: Discuss best practices for reporting, board involvement, and ongoing support.
