Zeta Diagnostics is a deep-tech startup developing a first-in-class diagnostic medical device allowing for early diagnosis of up to 400M people suffering from middle ear problems. The device will, to the patient, work like an audio player but will have several design elements specifically for clinical use and re-use. There is no diagnostic device on the market capable of this.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK UNDER MARKET EVALUATION: ​

Zeta Diagnostics is developing a medical device meant for home use and re-use by patients. Effectively it will work and look like a sports audio player. Zeta has the skills amongst its project members to build a product in a regulated environment, including software, but lacks the design skills, experience and know-how from high-end audio design, materials selection process and design-for-manufacturing.

We are looking for competence building in relation to mechanical design, materials and design-for-manufacturing of the next prototype of our device.

Task 1: competence building in the form of workshops. Fusion 360 basic design workflows (mechanical, material properties and electronics requirements taken into consideration)

Task 2: Recommendations and competence building on ergonomic fit and wearing comfort in the form of iterative hands-on-workshops based on 3d-printed prototypes.

TASK OBJECTIVES AND SUCCESS CRITERIA: ​

An initial alignment workshop and a series of hands on and competence building workshops on task 1, including mockups and material examples
An initial alignment workshop and a series of competence building workshops on task 2, resulting in principal design examples, renderings for presentation purposes and physical mockups demonstrating material properties and general design options for a finalised prototype
Hands-on training in additive prototyping in different materials

BUDGET OG SPECIFICATION OF AN OFFER: 
We expect a written offer to include at least:

• Bidder's proposal for solving the task 
• Specification of the price for solving the task 
• Discount, if relevant 
• Timeframe and end date

BACKGROUND FOR THE TENDER: 
Beyond Beta is subject to a number of requirements for good, healthy financial management, including documentation that the agreed price for external purchases is an expression of the market price.
