2. PRÆSENTATION AF UDBYDENDE VIRKSOMHED:
Umamamia uses biotechnology to make clean labeled, pulse-based, umami taste ingredients for the food industry (B2B). We are a lean team with different backgrounds and we have an experienced advisory board. Humans crave umami taste as it triggers their brains, increases flavor, increases the perception of salt and sweet and gives the eater an feeling of ‘mouth fullness’. Existing umami solutions have dominating aroma profiles that extend beyond umami, making them less versatile for use in food applications. Our products has a clean umami taste, is cost-effective and can be used for both sweet and savory food. We focus on the market for hybrids and alternative proteins, as plants have very little to no umami, and most consumers feel that those types of products do not live up to their expectations and need improvement in flavor.
Our vision is to have a world where food is delicious and nutritious as well as sustainably produced. We launched our product: UmamiFix, which has an umami level equal to parmesan measured in free glutamate. The declaration is clean and transparent, the product only contains peas and salt and the first customers are already adding our ingredient to their food products, enhancing their flavor. We are producing with contract manufacturing and we have proven production at scale.

3. BESKRIVELSE AF OPGAVEN UNDER MARKEDSAFDÆKNING:
Request for Proposal: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Umamamia's Production Process. Task description: Umamamia is seeking qualified vendors to assist conduct a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of our innovative food ingredient production process. The primary objective of this LCA is to quantify the environmental impact of our product and compare it with 6 existing food ingredients in the market (comparison data from LCA software).
Scope of Work:
1. With the team: Conduct a detailed LCA of Umamamia's production process, including:
● Raw material
● Manufacturing processes
● Packaging
● Distribution
● End-of-life considerations
2. Support the analysis and quantify key environmental impact categories, such as:
● Carbon footprint
● Water usage
● Energy consumption
● Waste generation
● Land use
● Use of chemicals
3. Spare with the team: Perform a comparative analysis between Umamamia's product and similar food ingredients currently available in the market.
4. Together with the team. Scope a comprehensive report detailing:
● Methodology used
● Data sources and assumptions
● Results and interpretation
● Recommendations for potential improvements in our production process
● ISO standards used to perform the LCA studies
The selected vendor should have proven expertise in conducting LCAs within the food industry and a strong understanding of sustainable food production practices. The final deliverable should be a clear, actionable report that Umamamia can use to optimize our processes and communicate our environmental performance to a close group of potential investors and stakeholders.
4. OPGAVENS MÅL OG SUCCESKRITERIER:
The LCA will be used as an internal tool to learn where to improve in order to optimize for minimum environmental impact. This means that third party validation of the LCA shall not be included in the quotation, but the LCA shall be performed so that it can be performed at a later point.
5. BUDGET OG TILBUDSSPECIFIKATION:
We expect that the written proposal contains:
● Date of proposal submission: Remember to specify the deadline for receiving the proposal
● A brief presentation of the bidder, including CVR number and contact information
● The bidder's proposed solution for the task
● Specification of the price for completing the task
● Any discounts offered
● Expected timeline
● Any conditions or assumptions for the proposal
● A separate cost of reopening the project at a later point in time to update the process with minor production process changes.
